The Blanc de Blancs of great tables, in magnum: the connoisseur's format for grand occasions.

A 100% chardonnay champagne from the Grand Cru village of Chouilly, in the heart of the Côte des Blancs. This is the Blanc de Blancs that houses such as La Tour d'Argent and Guy Savoy pour for their guests.
Why a magnum: the ratio between wine and the air in the neck is more favourable than in a bottle. The wine evolves more slowly, keeps its freshness and develops remarkably fine bubbles. And on a table, a magnum never goes unnoticed.
Appearance: pale gold with bright highlights, fine and persistent bubbles.
Nose: lemon, white grapefruit and lime, fresh pear, white peach; white flowers, hawthorn, acacia and linden; a touch of brioche and chalky notes.
The fruit: lemon, lime, white grapefruit, orange zest, fresh pear, peach, green apple and apple skin.
Palate: fresh, lively attack, the creamy texture typical of Chouilly chardonnay; the citrus carries through with green-apple acidity; long, saline finish of zest and fresh almond.
Pairings: aperitif, oysters, seafood, ceviche, grilled fish, or thin slices of bellota Iberico ham.
Serving: at 8 to 10 °C, in a tulip glass rather than a narrow flute, to let its aromas open up.
Total price: $169 per bottle, i.e. $507 per case of 3.

R&L Legras traces its roots to 1808, when Honoré Legras acquired his first vines in Chouilly, one of Champagne's 17 Grand Cru villages. After the Second World War, brothers René and Lucien Legras began making their own champagnes and gave the brand their initials.
Arriving at the estate in the early 1970s, Gérard Barbier, son of René Legras, made it one of the most prestigious houses of the Côte des Blancs. Today Julien, Stéphanie and Theo Barbier carry on this family heritage. All wines are vinified in stainless steel to preserve the purity of Chouilly chardonnay: freshness, generosity and elegance.
Known as « the champagne of starred chefs », the house was the official champagne of the Michelin Guide and pours at the greatest tables: La Tour d'Argent, Guy Savoy, L'Assiette Champenoise, Auberge du Pont de Collonges (Paul Bocuse), Amber at the Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong and Alchemist in Copenhagen.
Tradition Delloye is the exclusive representative of R&L Legras in Québec.
